NO ONE KNOWS

NO ONE KNOWS is Fresh Melt Waters first collaboration with Made to Order. This piece speaks strongly on the condition of sneaker culture. Something is not right when teenagers and resalers are waiting in lines for days to cop the same sneakers that made me jump higher 15 years ago..When its all about the dollar no one really knows..available in black/infrared on white and white/infrared on black this tee will be dropping at Made to Order friday August 22nd and online at Freshmeltwater.com next week..Keep Hype Alive

NYCDOS: Part Duex

So we wrote back to the certain precint in NYC explaining that the stickers were promos and we have no control of what is done with them once we give them away…here is their prompt response to our prompt response:

Thank you for the prompt response. Just so you know, the law is written such that there is the “presumption” that the person or company on the “poster” (or flyer or sticker) is liable for the fines, even if the person putting it up is not an “agent” of that person or company. So you may want to let your customers know that, at least in NYC (and a number of other major cities, including San Francisco, Washington DC and Boston), doing this could lead to fines for your company.

Again, thank you for the quick response. And I promise when I get down to FL, I will try out one or more of your establishments, since I am a seafood junkie…LOL.

Peace.

Apparently Fresh Melt Water got the bomb crablegs!!! We got it for cheap….fuck the market price.

peace!?

NYCDOS

Just received an email from a certain someone representing a certain precinct district in nyc bout some Fresh Melt Water stickers that appeared around Manhattan recently…funny shit…so now companies apparently risk fines just by PRODUCING stickers!! wow. here’s an excerpt:

New York City Administrative Code Section 10-119 states, in part: “It shall be unlawful for any person to paste, post, paint, print, nail or attach or affix by any means whatsoever any handbill, poster, notice, sign, advertisement, sticker or other printed material upon any…tree, lamppost, awning post…telephone pole, public utility pole, public garbage bin, bus shelter…parking meter, mail box, traffic control device…tree box, tree pit protection device, bench…[or] public pay telephone…or to direct, suffer or permit any servant, agent, employee or other person under his or her control to engage in such activity…There shall be a rebuttable presumption that the person whose name, telephone number, or other identifying information appears on any handbill, poster, notice, sign, advertisement, sticker or other printed material on any item or structure described in…this section…violated this section…”

The way summonsing works is that the Department of Sanitation (DOS) inspector rides around, takes note of a sticker, counts the number of stickers, multiplies by $250, and sends the summons by mail. If no mailing address is available, the DOS can have the NYPD reverse-search a telephone number, e-mail address or website. Note that the DOS Inspector is extremely active in the 20th Precinct, which is bounded by 59th Street, 86th Street, Riverside Drive and Central Park West. In fact, three weekends ago, the DOS inspector called one posterer and threatened him with a $10,000 fine if he did not go out and remove all of his flyers.

Granted, they did give us a warning as opposed to simply sending us a summons so…..thanks! Hope this helped some people out out there in internet land!
