HOPS’ SHOW @ EASY ST. GALLERY BK TOMORROW!

photo
It’s that time of the month!  This month our good brother HOPS will be presenting his body of recent pipes at Easy Street Gallery in Brooklyn.  For those who don’t know, Hops invented the INLINE.

From Wikipedia:

Inline percolators resemble the tree with one larger arm sealed inside a jacketed Dewar. The Inline contains slits and is usually found in the first chamber of the water pipe. The Inline can be made with slits of varying diameter causing increased diffusion and massive visually entertaining bubbly action. Coined ‘Harmonic’ the action resembles waves of bubbles similar to a sound wave pattern. The glass artist ‘Hops’ is credited along with ‘Toro’ for origination of terminology and design.

Get it?  Check these pics of a couple of his new pieces.  The inline is the bottom horizontal clear piece:

OK just one more little teaser pic.

He is a true trailblazer and father to a now very common piece of glass pipe technology.  His work is scientifiic, artistic and innovative at once.  You don’t want to miss this one.  As always the artist himself will be in attendance to answer questions and receive your praise and adoration.  And also as always (for those who’ve never been) they’ll be a RAFFLE for one of HOPS pieces…..COME THRU!!!!!!!

Snic @ Easy Street Gallery in Brooklyn

photo

Tonight is our very good friend SNIC’s show at our other good friend’s gallery EASY STREET (155 Grand st. Brooklyn).  We share studio space with Snic and watching him work is truly inspiring.  He has been grinding it out for this show and the body of work is amazing.  It’s titled “Perception and Manipulation” and this definitely fits Snic’s personality as well as the whole mindset behind glass and pipe making.  Come check his work out it is surely like nothing you’ve ever seen before.  He takes glass pipe making to a whole new level.  You will not be dissapointed.  Check out Easy Street’s website HERE for some pics of Snic’s work and more info.

SLINGER: “REPEATER” @ EASY STREET GALLERY (BK)

25807_654709739376_10503692_37212553_6793214_n

This saturday our very good friend and extremely talented glass blowing artist SLINGER will be showcasing all new pieces in a pop-art retrospective of his politically driven work. REPEATER launches 7pm Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Easy Street Gallery. I’ve seen some of the stuff he’s been working on and its serious. Mad new pipes, with a ton of new designs and shapes. The collabos he’s doing for this show are all top notch as well with artists like JAG and SNIC. I’ll be there and I hope lots of you will too.  Check out this video our boys at GRITCITY INC (creators of the books TATTED, SMOKED vol.1, and the upcoming SMOKED vol. 2) put together interviewing Sling on his new show and a sneak peak of some work….
