Tomorrow is going to be a dope time.  There’s so much going on down at the shop.  Not only are we doin the seconds chance pedx thrift shop….but we are also going to be listening to the new mixtape “Extra Credit” to gear up for the Summer School show at the TLA!  Thanks to Mitchell & Ness, Company Policy, Uristocrat.com for this….This things dope and has some ill artists on it.  The tape is dope and the show will be dope.  Tomorrow will be dope also.  There’s some straight dope goin around and you need to get down……ps MAD new tees and tanks at the shop tomorrow too! (pics in the AM).

YOOOOOO!  I haven’t been this siked for anything in a while.  Our fam over at Grit City Inc. are dropping their third book and the second volume of SMOKED!!!  SMOKED VOL 2 is filled with even more amazing pieces than the first.  The quality of the publishing is also A MILLION TIMES BETTER!!! (ahem…hardcover!).  I am writing this from Easy Street (155 Grand st. in Brooklyn) helping put all the pieces together (droooool) and set up our collabo tee that we did for ther release (which wil be on sale at easy street in limited numbers and ill post a pic as soon as i can).

We couldn’t be happier or prouder for all of our fam at Grit City and Easy Street.  As well as for all the amazing and super talented glassblowers we’ve had the pleasure to meet and become very good friends with.  I CANT WAIT FOR THIS ONE.  If your into art, glass, pipes, whatever….COME THRU.  This will certainly be another HUGE step towards bringing artistic pipe making into the public.

Finally got my hands on some shots from the RedBull Big Tune meetup we had at our shop the night before the BIG Bigtune over at World Cafe Live.  All the DJ’s were in the spot chilling, enjoying redbull and other various chilled beverages.  While there they had a little setup for all the competing DJ’s to get  a pic taken in front of our huge tree wall and a Redbull Big Tune logo.   Guests were also treated to a FMW x REDBULL gift bag featuring a super limited BIGTUNE x FMW Collab tee, a pair of SKULLCANDY headphones, some redbull energy shots, a 215 mag and our Made Fresh Mixtape!  LUCKY!

The actual event at world cafe was a great night cause it also ended with the LEGENDARY ALCHEMIST (ahem Big NOYD was in the building) and JUSTBLAZE (ahem FREEWAY was in the building) doing there thing battling with beats that they produced over the years and some new shit too….in the end the champion was “Incredible Stro” and “T Mos” was runner up. They will both be traveling to Chicago to compete in the Red Bull Big Tune National Finals.

Tonight is the big throw down at World Cafe Live from 7-12a (3025 Walnut st. in philly).  Red Bull’s hosting a head to head battle of 12 producers vying for audience votes.  So if you come, your vote will count. DJ DV One will be on the wheels all night.   Event will feature LEGENDARY producers Alchemist and Just Blaze!!!!   Come check this one out we will be there!  From Redbull:

Two producers share the stage, each at their own station using (2) CDJ’s and a mixer that they use to play their original “tune.” There are no celebrity judges and no gimmicks. Red Bull Big Tune is inspired by Jamaican sounds clashes where the audience decides who has the Big Tune and who goes home. Each producer moves through a series of brackets determined by random selection. The winner and runner-up from each qualifying battle will be flown to Atlanta, GA to compete in the Red Bull Big Tune national finals.

Tonight EXIT SKATESHOP (825 N. 2nd st. right up the block from the FMW shop) is the place to be as 80+ artists bring you deck art.  I’m happy to say that I (Joey) have a deck in this show and I’m really happy with how it came out.  I have seen some other decks in the show and this is going to be a DOPE night.   From Exit’s website:

Meltwater’s been a fan of eminem since way back when he was this mythical white rapper that some freind of a freind of yours told you about in art class in high school (or maybe that was just me).  His rhyme schemes were and still are some of the most complex and poetic ones out there.  Regardless of content his rhyme style is truly artistic.  Here’s a link to his newest track “NOT AFRAID” off of his forthcoming “Recovery” album.   Pretty good in my opinoin im definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of the album….however I still kinda feel like Em’s been rhyming on the same beat for the past 10 years (maybe thats just me again…)Take a listen….
